Jim Maley is founding partner and principal of FreePlay, Inc. He has an extensive business and industrial background in electronics and automotive manufacturing. Additionally, Jim has faculty experience teaching organizational leadership, industrial engineering technology, and engineering technology related courses at the university level. 

His abilities and skills include:

  •  fortifying business basics
  •  applying industrial engineering and systems theory
  •  Coaching
  •  facilitating organization improvement.

Jim earned a BS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and MS and PhD degrees in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Michigan and Indiana.

Jan Tyler has an extensive background across the field of education. She has led college and university student services and academic affairs as well serving as an administrator in a K-8 public charter school. Jan has taught at both undergraduate and graduate levels and has developed curriculum materials and training activities for teaching professionals who work with adult learners.


She has taught courses in areas including:

  • organizational leadership
  • business administration
  • career development
  • education
  • technology leadership
  • college-level writing and reading proficiency


Jan earned a BA in Sociology from Miami University, Ohio; a MA in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University; and an EdD in Education with a Higher Education Leadership specialization from Union Institute & University. Jan is a Fellow Member of the Customer Service Institute of America.

Lorri Barnett’s career includes roles as customer service manager, training manager, human resources and project manager, and, most recently, information technology director. Her experience has been with companies in manufacturing, government, and education industries. Lorri also serves as an IT consultant in the funeral industry. 

She is an experienced university instructor, teaching: 

  • organizational leadership
  • supply chain
  • lean
  • distribution
  • computer information technology at both the undergraduate and graduate level.


Lorri’s licensures and certifications include Lean, Skill Point/Training Within Industry and Technical Writing. Lorri earned her BS and MBA degrees at Anderson University.
